The Charme Hotel Uridl is a historic residence dating back to the 1600s, situated next to the Santa Cristina church. Over the course of the years it became a hotel, one of the first in Val Gardena. The Swiss pine stube, a panelled dining room, is one of the oldest in the whole valley. When you dine here it feels like time slows down. We have a limited number of rooms, just enough to allow guests to be immersed in an authentic Dolomite experience. On the tables you will find flowers and candles, whilst local art features on the walls. Art is an integral part of our hotel, thanks to owner, and artist himself, Helmar Demetz. Over the years he has collected over 200 works of art from more than 30 painters, turning our home into a small museum. Day after day, for years now, we live in a simple way and believe in this simplicity. We look after those who come to stay here every day, as we always have done.
From season to season, for over a century.
Hospitality is a state of mind that uses connections, listening, and reciprocity to colour-in the greyed outlines of existence. Hospitality, like art, is a wholly human need. This is why, in our home, hospitality and art have always gone hand in hand.
